Hybrid Drives
SSHD (Solid State Hard Drives) from Digitalpromo.co.uk
SSHDs combine HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and SSD (Solid State Drive) technologies to make a fast high capacity storage device for computers. A SSHD differs from an SSD although it uses the same high-speed flash memory but it also has the higher capacity associated with a standard High Disk Drive therefore making an SSHD much more cost-effective than a SSD.
SSHDs are the more popular hybrid drive though there are also dual-drive systems available. The difference being that a dual-drive system literally uses separate SSD and HDDs installed in the same machine whereas an SSHD is a single unit.
